The site is a two-story house in the eastern part of Sofia and has a total floor area of 280 m2. It can be divided into two main functional zones - a day zone and a night zone. The former is on the first floor and consists of an entrance hall, a kitchen, a dining room, a living room, a covered porch, a shared toilet and a storage room. The latter is on the second floor where the two children’s bedrooms and the master bedroom are located. It should be noted that the master bedroom boasts a walk-in closet, a working station and a private bathroom.

Aiming to create a consistent look and feel across all areas, we settled for a minimalist design concept with clear lines, a limited color palette and very few decorative elements. Throughout the execution of the concept we adhered to the “form follows function” principle. The choice of materials reflects the client’s preference for low maintenance flooring, walls and finishes. Light and neutral tones are combined with bright wood decor thus contributing to a cozy and inviting atmosphere. An artistic touch inspired by the color of one of the bathrooms was added to the children’s room and served as a canvas for fun illustrations that make the games in the multi-level play zone even more enjoyable.
